What SCSI card are you using?
The "SCSI Device Requires a Driver" message could be coming up if there
is an unrecognised (non-Apple) SCSI card in the system, or possibly an
older version of firmware in the original Apple SCSI card.
If I remember right, the RamFast SCSI card doesn't even implement the
SmartPort firmware interface, so it won't be recognised as a SCSI card
by GS/OS. Other SCSI cards would have to implement SmartPort _and_ set
the "I am a SCSI card" bit in the identification byte to trigger this
message.
I can boot the System 6.0.x install disk on my IIgs without getting this
error message, _and_ successfully install onto the hard drive. I have
an Apple High-Speed SCSI card.
