Is there something that is not quite right about the "ground" FTP server?  I
have tried not only using Windows FTP programs (FTP Explorer, and the built
in FTP program in a dos window) but also from unix shell accounts with no
luck. I can get the ls to work just fine, but when I try to do a get or mget
nothing ever happens.  It just sits there like I have asked it to serve me a
cup of coffee or something.  

I thought it might be that I was having some connection issues on my end, so
I tried several other FTP sites all over the US and had absolutely no
problems at all.  It's all occuring when I try to FTP from ground...

     Weird. Ground is among the really reliable and easy-connecting Apple II
archives whether via Netscape or ftp. Try using WS_FTP or Cute FTP.

     Not that I've heard about. Selling a complete copy of Ground on CD
probably is not possible without running into all sorts of rights challenges.

     You can get a nice collection of Apple II/IIgs software on CD. The CD,
named "Golder Orchard" was put together by Jim Maricondo. It is a ProDOS and
HS format product intended for accessing on a IIgs. I'm pretty sure that
Shareware Solutions II is the distributor.  See ...
