Nit pick alert!  This applies to SuperTimer's reply to.  :-)

An 80 column card will only give you up to 80x24 text and it might be
able to give you 80x48 lo-res graphics but I've never tried it.

An EXTENDED 80 column card or compatible will give you the double
hi-res graphics of 560x192 in black and white or 140x192 in 16
colours.
