Using a Zip disk on a Mac - WAS:(Re: ZIP on GS)

Here's some more info and feedback on using a Zip disk on a Mac for either Mac
or Apple II or IIgs needs.

(Mind you I said on a Mac). I have a Zip 1GB Jazz drive with a 1GB cart (zip
disk) that's in a PC format. Using the MacOS v7.5.1 thru 8.6 - the Mac can
access it just fine and can even launch Mac apps, Apple II disk images for
emulator needs via emulators or IIgs archives and apps can also be accessed via
Apple II or IIgs emulators for use also.

So, I have the single partition PC format zip 1GB cart (zip disk) that I use
with my Mac and (for my own needs here) see no reason to consider having a Zip
disk for the Jazz 1GB drive in any other format. If needed I make a folder to
keep track of what's where and so on with the 1GB Jazz zip disk, I use in it.

I can even store ShrinkIt archives on it and unshrink them as needed to my Mac
hard drive, using the Shrink II program, with no problems. This makes things
very simple and easy for all of my needs with respect to both Mac and Apple II
or IIgs storage of files on the Jazz 1 GB disk - that's PC formatted.

Cheers,
Tom
