You can get on the internet, provided you find an ISP with Shell
accounts. I've done it.

public domain CAD program.

Go to comp.sys.apple2.marketplace and ask about one of those science
kits they used to have for the Apple //. I seem to remember one of them
had a temperature monitor that hooked through the joystick port.
Another thing you could do, if you were so inclined, is make a robot out
of your //c. The tricky part would be hooking things (motors, motion
detectors, and the like) up through the two serial ports.
