Baffling SCSI

I�ve come up with a baffling problem. I wanted to find out something
for someone and dug out a Hi-Speed SCSI card. Problem is this card
will not function on any IIe however it�ll work fine on a IIgs. Other
Hi-Speed SCSI cards will work fine with all these machines and hard
drives. I tried swapping all the socketed chips between it and a good
card but to no avail.The only card in the IIes was a memory card and
I tried a different one in each IIe I tried and switch settings were
identical in all the Hi-Speed SCSI cards I tried.
