It does involve a ton of POKEs, depending on how many graphics you'll want
to draw with DRAW/XDRAW and how complex they are. Setting up these
commands involves building a shape table. Shapes in shape tables are made
with vectors. If you want to build a shape table, look for a book called
Graphics and Animation on the Apple II, II+, IIe, and IIc. It starts out
with drawing on the text screen, then using low resolution graphics, then
high resolution graphics, and near the end it explains about shape tables.
All the stuff in the book is done in Applesoft, which I suspect you are
using since you are talking about POKE commands.
