The IIGS can use them.  SCSI is SCSI.  I recommend the
Apple High Speed SCSI card, which goes for $60 to $70
(US dollars) used.  Be sure to get the HIGH SPEED Apple
card, not the plain Apple SCSI card.

But for the price, you can get a 500MB internal IDE hard
drive on a card called the Focus from http://www.allelec.com/
Alltech Electronics.  These new drives have a library of
freeware and shareware on them.  Sounds like a better
deal and you won't have to mess with cables and
terminators.
