One thing to note about SimSystem is that it seems to
require real DOS, not the DOS Window that Win95/98
provides.  I used to run it from a DOS 5 partition.  I have
not tried it on any DOS later than DOS 5.  Thus, if you
have trouble trying out this emulator, you could use it
temporarily with an old DOS 5 boot disk.

The emulated IIe screen is very convincing in this
emulator.  Unlike most of the other Apple II emulators,
SimSystem emulates the Apple II video faithfully by
spacing out the scan lines to simulate an Apple II
display.  It has to be seen to be appreciated.
