Well Jay, first off, you put this in a bad spot. It's in the Apple2
communication news group. Not all of the Apple2 readers use
this news group. Judging by the traffic, next to none.

I'm replying in the CSA2 main newsgroup so you may get better
help than I can provide.

I'm a little rusty on the IIe. As I remember, the 3.5 Unidisk was
the smartport drive which worked on the //c. Although Apple
named several drives as the Unidisk. I also seem to remember
there were different sized drive connectors.

Hope someone else can give more info.
