Apple //e problems

	I own an Apple //e computer which I have never used (because I
also own a Laser 128 EX/2 -- I bought the computer for the printer) and
recently booted it up to make sure there was no internal clock installed
in it. However, when I loaded up Appleworks (1988 version) I noticed some
problems. Here they are: when I use the cursor to highlight a menu option,
it starts blinking like crazy, and sometimes it starts running through all
the menu options, making it hit & miss to select the right menu option.
When I hit return to load up a blank file, the file loads up but it's
almost like the return button is stuck (although it isn't physically stuck
down on the keyboard) because I can't type anything, because the computer
is inserting non-stop returns. The ESC key is also doing weird things,
because when I hit ESC to go back to the Main Menu, it keeps bouncing back
and forth between the file (blank or existing) that's on the desktop and
the main menu. I'm suspecting that a few years of sitting in a dusty
closet has perhaps taken its toll on the keyboard. I know how to remove
the keys, but don't have any tools for cleaning it, and I doubt any of the
stores in town will service the keyboard for me. But perhaps there's
another problem, I don't know? What suggestions could people give me for
fixing it?
