Like Supertimer, I've had a lot of luck with Windows 95. I've heard
many of the horror stories. Most are blown out of proportion by the
MS bashers. For the average PC users, the 9x series OS is quite
stable and usable.

For myself, I like to play with hardware. I test lots of things for
different people. Changes like this is not good for Win 9x. In
most cases it requires the system be updated by re-installing.
So, on my personal system I use Linux. It lets the hacker in me
have fun.
