Well, it sounds like you have a good setup to get software to
your new GS.
It sounds more like a media problem. Many of the early 3.5
disks were poorly manufactured. Through the years, I have
disposed of many which failed to hold a format for any length
of time. It's mainly a personal thing. I don't like to keep a
disk I feel I can't trust. In most cases I keep a copy of my
Apple backups on hard disk and/or Zip disk and only use the
disks which have proven trustworthy.
