Users of ProSel-8 for the Apple IIe and IIc (and for the IIGS under ProDos 8)
should download, and start using, ProSel 8 v4.1 sometime in the next week or
two. EVEN if you downloaded or ordered ProSel-8 v4.0 with the Mr.Fixit upate
months ago, you STILL need the newer update to ProSel-8 v4.1. It is over and
above the earlier Y2K fix to Mr. Fixit alone. Version 4.1 is a disk-wide update
which affects many parts of the program, including the ProSel menu, Cat
Doctor, Block Warden, and some of the minor utilities.
ProSel-8 v4.1 can be downloaded from CompuServe's Mac Hardware section, and
from Ground at
ftp://ground.ecn.uiowa.edu/apple2
These two sites are authorized to carry my updates. Thanks to the syops of
CompuServe and Ground for supporting this work.
For the IIGS, there have been no changes to ProSel 16 made by me since version
8.90. Both ProSel 8 v4.1 and ProSel-16 v8.90 were developed in cooperation with
ProSel's management of 10 years, Charlie's AppleSeeds. Both ProSel 8 and 16's
Y2K problems are very serious and everyone should update now if you have not
done so yet.
If you don't know how, or are unable, to download, ProSel-8 v4.1 can be
ordered on Disk from TEXAS II or from Charlie's AppleSeeds for $10. Visit
http://members.aol.com/A2MG for more information. Thank you for your support!
