RamFAST SCSI board -- how important is v3.01F ROM?

	Supertimer suggested I attach a SCSI Zip drive (which I happen to have)
to the GS and use Zip disks as a method of transfer of ShrinkIt files
from my blue&white G3 400 (with Zip disk as well) to the IIgs.  (I did
not realize the GS would read HFS formatted volumes.)  Now I need a SCSI
board.  I gather from the a2 FAQ that the RAMFAST board is my best bet
with such a removeable drive.  I went to the common links and found
several around $110 in price.

	I did hear that ideally you would have v3.01F ROM BIOS on the SCSI
board.  There is no indication of the BIOS rev on the boards I've seen. 
How important it v3.01F BIOS to get this thing working??  And ideally
what slot does SCSI work best in on the GS.  I had lots of devices in my
GS back in the day -- but not SCSI.  

	ALSO -- can I boot off that Zip drive?  Thanks.  I hope the built in
setup routines get me up and running--it's sort of a catch-22, needing
to get ahold of the data off a Zip drive to even get a full system um
and running.  I think the GS I ordered comes w/ System 5.x
