Tom, you seem to have missed the key point that Blake has a Blue & White
G3, and none of the floppy drives available for it will support the
800KB disk format.  Unless he is lucky enough to have a SuperDrive with
its card, or a PC-comaptible floppy drive and a BlueDisk card, he won't
be able to read 1.44MB floppies on the IIgs.

Personally, I'd go for the "older Mac with a floppy drive as a
go-between" idea.  If the older machine has an Ethernet port, you can
even run LocalTalk bridge on it, allowing an AppleTalk connection
without needing a separate Ethernet/LocalTalk converter or removal of
the internal modem.

This is my current solution to the "lack of desk space" problem, since I
got my iMac.  I haven't transferred everything useful over to Bernie
yet, so the IIgs is still lurking in the corner waiting for me to do a
brain transplant on it.
