I hate to break this to you but solid state electronics are not
invulnerable.  Every electronic device is created with a MTBF (Mean
Time Between Failure) rating that is the average time that some
component in the device will fail.

Any IC (Integrated Circuit aka "chip") has electricity flowing through
it and as a result produces heat.  This heat slowly but surely damages
the component and the component will fail at some point in time.  Just
not as quickly or easily as tubes.
