AppleWorks for the is not commercially available from any authorized source. It
is available on the "used" market only.

I do not condone the presence of AppleWorks as a download on the web. It came
too early. It was made available while it was still commercially sold, and
there were still parties interested in developing it further. However, I do
believe it is reasonable for anyone who owns an original disk (any version) to
upgrade to the latest and (sadly) the last version, AppleWorks 5.1, without
pain, guilt, condemnation by Penman the nobody, etc. If that means they must
resort to a questionable download, then so be it. I wish there was a more
reliable resource, containing all the correct files, in Apple II format (not an
image), etc. I'm not going to do it, tho....
