Sure, but I would rather use my IIGS than those idiot
Windows CE machines. I'm not against PCs, but
Windows CE is just too much of an "if I look like
Windows 95 enough, maybe everyone will think I
am." Give me a break!
I still say that if Commodore could make the C64
for $99 in the 1980s, Apple or one of the PC makers
should be able to make a much better $99 desktop
PC today that could do the fundamentals like word
process, desktop publish, spreadsheet, database,
and painting and drawing.
I wonder if the IIGS is buildable and profitable at
$99 if it came with say built in AppleWorks GS.
The GeoBook PC is the concept I'm thinking about.
GeoWorks used to be a mainstream competitor
of Windows. It lost, but so what? They just
changed their strategy and are in cheap "appliance"
PCs. But GeoBook is not cheap enough. It is
still not the Commodore 64 of the 90s.
