Re: Cooked something in my Platinum IIe

I very stupidly tried to attach on of my logic probe leads to the R/W
line on a card in my platinum IIe while it was still powered on and I
believe I crossed that signal with the -12v line above it.

When I turn on the IIe I now get a constant beep through the speaker
and video is filled with a constant character (not sure of the value
but it looks like a block but not solid, made from dots).

From another IIe, I tried swapping out all available socketed chips
but it did not resolve the problem. There are still quite a few I
would not be able to swap out without desoldering them.

Does anyone know the IIe well enough to determine which chip, cap or
resister may be fried?

If I'm not mistaken, the DRAM chips in the Platinum //e are not
socketed.

It seems reasonable that one or more DRAM chips are fried...
