So what you are saying is that the EIA422 is compatible enough to allow
a EIA232 device to connect to it?  Also, yes there is a standard
connector for EIA422, but I do not know what it is.  My guess though,
and I am going out on a limb on this one, is that it is another EIAXXX
number.  (Note: I replaced the RS with EIA according to a book I have on
serial communications.  They say it is preferred though most people use
RS, go figure.)
