Unfortunately, I am out of ideas.  ;-(  Maybe run the
IIe self test with the Zip installed?  Also, check to
see if there are any cards that use DMA (RamFAST
or Apple High Speed SCSI for example) since the
ZipChip does not support DMA properly.  If that's the
problem, the solution is to turn off DMA.

Also if you have another Apple IIe or a IIc, try the Zip
Chip in that computer to see if the second computer
can DHR and mouse with the Zip.  Not a IIc Plus or
a 128EX or 128EX/2, though.
