Avast! Be there still pirates in these here waters?

<< Re: Info & help with DSK image needs
The answer to that is mainly because I'm an Apple II pirate named Dr. Tom.

Some people don't like Apple II pirates or Dr. Tom :))

Shoot Tom, I know that, but especially when measured in the time rate that
computers exist by, the current Apple II marketplace, levels of interest by
Apple Computer, and Woz's own beginnings, I'd say that your rep is (1)
legendary history, (2) is larger than anyone that it could threaten, (3) is of
an equal interest to Apple Computer as is it's interest in the redevelopment of
the Apple II, and (4) part of the romance of the beginnings of personal
computing and Apple II history.

Apple II piracy: yesterday vs. today:

It's the difference between my going into downtown New York City in the middle
of January, throwing a brick through the window of Sax Fifth Avenue and taking
a fur coat to keep warm, or

wandering through a near-ghost town in Montana in January, walking into what
has been a long abandoned structure, taking what was long ago cast aside, but
still useful, and sustaining myself by putting it to use once again.

Yesterday in the Big Apple, people would instantly label me a lawbreaker (and
a pretty stupid one at that) for committing such a blatant crime. While out in
Montana today, folks would brand me just plain stupid -- FOR NOT knocking down
the door and setting it and the rest of the house aflame to survive and keep
warm.

Hard to believe that anyone is still holding a grudge today.
