Re: And now, from the author of the DOS Disk post, a post that actually relates to this newsgroup.

--> First off, thanks for the clarification re: Delphi. I will
certainly have to go re-visit there, keeping the `guest' thingie
in mind.
Secondly, I recall a course someone gave about four years or
so back, on the `Internet' and how to use it, including ftp'ing
Archie, etc. He gave the course in (I seem to recall) about 30
segments, each covering a different sub-topic and each was done
via email - he announced the course on the newsgroup and one
joined an email mailing list to get each `class' and one did
homework via short emails proving one understood a concept (such
as FTP'ing) by noting what one found at the FTP site one was told
about in the email `lesson', or by describing or reproducing the
contents of a specific file found on that site, and so on.
My point? Don't really have much of one - 'cept for the observation
that possibly `someone' could arrange an "Apple II University"
course via email so as not to clog this NG? I don't know if the
info is considered copywrited, so it's not wanted to be seen on a
NG, or in email - or if there's other reasons (besides the large
amount of time `someone' would probably have to dedicate to such
an endeavour); but I thought I'd mention it, just in case it might
be a viable alternative if `someone' were eager to offer an A2
course but did not have a method to offer it by.
Personally - I'd have no problem seeing multiple postings over a
period of time (ie: twice a week or every other day, for example)
on some kind of A2 `course' that I could follow along with. AFAIC,
info like this is just as valuable - if not more so - than some
of the posts we all already see here, anyway - so why not? I don't
think it would `tie-up' or `clog' comp.sys.apple2 - but I may be
in the minority. I guess what I'm saying, is even though I'm no
novice with the IIe (for example); I don't mind learning more A2
things. There's always room in my brain (and in my heart) for more
A2 knowledge - it'd expand my knowledge-base, refresh my rusty A2
lore and keep me current and this is a Good Thing.
Would anyone object to learning more about A2 things in/on this
NG? I dunno - but you'd get my endorsement in a flash, if you
were enough of a glutton for punishment that you (or anyone else)
were willing to teach an A2 course via the internet. But that's
just moi . . .
