Hi all,
Some news about the smartport virtual hard drive project, since last year.
The embedded usb version is near completion, you can look at
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1wT3nhcQc1I to see my //c booting Prodos
with Mousedesk from an usb key.
The upper card is the usb key without his enclosure.
The lower card is the interface hosting the software, small enough to
fit within the //C itself, or an external drive like the disk //c. Of
course, it could get his own enclosure.
Actually only one device is emulated, but the version 1.0 should emulate
up to 4 devices, each up to 32MB, on the same usb key.
I will do a full presentation with the first release.
The cost of this solution is pretty low, less than 40$ for the
prototype, but this could be more expensive if you want it ready to plug
in an external enclosure.
Cdric.
