Indeed, high density 5.25" disks are not reliable in a Disk ][
drive. In my experience, some work, some don't, but even those
that seem to work in a drive cannot be read in another drive.
Would it be possible to replace the drive head in a Disk ][
with a high-density head (that presumably has a stronger, more
concentrated magnetic field) and expect it to work without too
many modifications?
