Instead of a term program, here's how I've moved AppleWriter files over to a PC.

If you have access to a Mac and an Apple II with a 3.5 and a 5.25 disk drive you
shouldn't have a problem. Both the DOS 3.3 and the ProDOS AppleWriter files
can be copied to a ProDOS or HFS formatted 3.5 inch disk. If you're having trouble
transferring DOS 3.3 files to a ProDOS disk the likely problem is an  illegal file
name. The rules for ProDOS names are a bit different than DOS 3.3. For ProDOS
you're limited to a maximum of 15 characters. Only numbers letters or periods are
allowed and the first character must be a letter. No spaces etc allowed.
On the Mac I've used ClarisWorks 4 to read the AppleWritter files. I can't say
about
other versions but ClarisWorks 4 will translate AppleWriter files whether they they

were originally written by a DOS 3.3 or ProDOS AppleWritter.  Then just save it to
a PC disk in a format suitable for your WP program.
