This has to do with "magic routing", the ability for the Finder
to correctly place into the proper folder any System files that
were dragged to the System folder. If your System folder is in
the main directory of your hard drive boot partition, if you
drag afile there to copy it to your system it only works
correctly for the first file copied. Ant additional files are
only placed inside the System folder, not where they need to be.
This means that if you are coping a bunch of files such as fonts
or drivers only one will make it to the proper folder. All the
others will only be in the System folder. This bug got by the
programers because they always had the their System folder on
the Desktop instead of in the hard drive partition. Magic Routing
works properly if the System folder is on the Desktop. The
patch Louis refers to makes it work properly with the System
folder left in the hard drive partition.
