When I e-mailed them, I asked them about the specifics of the printer
and if I could get the specs for the printer language to write my own
driver. They replied to say that it would only work with Windows. No
mention of how to get the printer language specs, though.

This Epson Color Stylus 400 only has a parallel interface.
I'll have to try to send some ESC/P and ESC/P2 commands to the printer
from my PC some day but the specs on Epson site clearly say that it
uses ESC/Raster.
