This is correct. All the AppleWorks printer commands are taken straight from
the PCL command chart. Even if you use the straight "ASCII" character set,
which contains no control characters or high asciii, you can still send PCL
commands like CG Times font (P1, or proportional-1 in AppleWorks), and other
common deskjet commands.
