In most major cities here there are numerous weekly/fortnightly 'Trading
Post' type newspapers/magazines.  The computer sections are dominated by
Windoze/Gate$ type boxes, but A2 goodies can still be found at cheap
prices.

There are numerous Apple resellers in Sydney, but finding an Apple shop-
floor assistant anywhere who's even HEARD of an A2/GS etc. is
problematic. However, some resellers have A2 trade-ins etc. for sale in
second-hand outlets.

User-Group-wise I've lost track of what's happening in Sydney, but there
used to be a very active Apple User's Group there called Apple User's
Group (Sydney).  If your friend can locate the user-group, she's sure to
find A2 help (+ possibly A2s for sale) there.

Here in Melbourne, there's a robust user-group that goes by the amusing
acronym AUSOM (Apple Users' Society Of Melbourne).  AUSOM has 1200
members and runs a website at http://www.ausom.net.au
