     Supertimer's idea that your PROM may be forgetting bytes would certainly
fit. Heat from normal operation accelerates the process; so, borderline bytes
might well go from iffy to bad during a tryout.

     Something else to check is the ribbon cable which runs from the TWGS to
the 65816 socket on the motherboard. To check, remove the cable and use an Ohm
meter to verify continuity for each line in the cable. (Flex the cable slightly
for each line tested to make sure continuity is maintained.)
