     If your IIgs has the old "ROM-00" ROMs, then, as you say, you will
need to upgrade to ROM-01.

     You may be able to save some bother by contacting Alltech 
(760-724-2404; http://allelec.com ). They should still have some of the
ROM-01 ROMs to sell.
