The label on the lid doesn't necessarily tell all.  I used to have access
to a ][+ and a ][...and both had ][+ labels on them.

An easy way to get an idea which model you have is to turn the machine on.

If it immediately tries to boot a disk and displays "APPLE ][" at the top
of the screen, it is either a ][+ or an updated ][.

If you get a screen full of question marks and a Monitor prompt (*) then
you have an Apple ][.

If you remove any cards from Slot 0 and start up the machine, the Apple ][
will allow you to enter Integer BASIC (>) while the ][+ will give you
Applesoft (]) instead.

If there is an Applesoft ROM card in Slot 0 of a ][, it can sometimes
behave like a ][+, which is why I suggested removing any Slot 0 card.
