IMHO, the Sparc would be a much more snazzy terminal for your Apple ][.  :-)

To make life easy, pull up a copy of the Csa2 FAQs.  The TCOM section
will include details on setting the dip switches of your super serial
card.  And yes, it will handle 9600 8-N-1 with ease.  It should also
be able to handle transfer rates upto 19200bps, with suitable error
correction. 

Since you are using a UNIX box, Kermit is probably your best bet for
communications software.  The VT-100 emulation is among the most
robust which I have seen for the Apple II.  It also has the Kermit and
x-modem file transfer protocols which, though they be sluggish, are
supported almost everywhere.  The easiest way to get Kermit onto your
Apple II is to borrow a PC or Mac, and use ADT and the Kermit disk
image from the Asimov FTP site.

On a cable, any serial cable which would connect a PC to your Sparc in
a similar manner should work.  If at first it does not work, flip the
terminal/modem block around.  I believe that this serves as a built in
null modem adapter.   Yoy may also need some sort of gender bender.
Since I use a Mac, an ordinary Mac modem cable does the job.  If there
is any such thing for the Sparc (why would you want to use a modem on
a Sparc?), the same idea should apply.

And, should you want to use the Sparc as the terminal, simply connect
the two computers with the suitable serial cable, ensure the dip
switches on the Super Serial Card are set to match the Sparc 9600
8-N-1, then type:

PR#2			(Output to serial.)
IN#2			(Input from serial.)

Assuming the serial card is in slot 2.  This technique turns many
modern computers into useful machines.  :-)
