The firmware is not just an EPROM.  You need a Zilog Z8 processor with
piggyback socket for an EPROM (I don't know the exact part number).  If
I remember right, the ProFile has a masked ROM or PROM Z8 processor, so
you can't just swap the EPROM over - you have to swap the entire CPU.

The EPROM firmware must match the drive capacity (there are different
ones for a 5MB and 10MB ProFile).

I've never seen the software, so I don't know what is required there.
