Yes. On the Apple LCD (disconnected of course), you carefully open the case and
pull out the screen cover. (If you are not comfortable with this, have a
professional do it for you.) This is a sheet of opaque plastic that covers the
display. When removed, it exposes sort of a soft plastic screen surface
underneath. This, plus some creative lighting and angling of the screen, makes
everything quite legible. I keep the screen cover nearby and use it as a sort
of dust cover. I also keep a monitor hooked up for times when I need total
acuracy.
