I've had troubles with a black HP all-in-one. The paper sensor on it was
messed up; it would keep telling the Mac that it was out of paper, even when
I had a full stack loaded in.

Though I will admit, one thing that has really improved over times with
printers: automatic paper intake. My old StyleWriters would jam all of the
time, and even the LaserWriter would occasionally pull in two sheets.
