The Apple II does indeed output an off-the-mark NTSC
signal, but the AppleColor Composite Monitor will
accept a standard NTSC signal and display that as
well.

I did that too.  ;-)

I also have a green Monitor II, currently on my backup
IIGS.  It used to work perfectly with my VCR.  Now
it is acting up.  The contrast switch is extremely
sensitive, even from the IIGS' composite output.  If
I nudge it a little too high contrast, the screen washes
out with green.
