Apart from the 50/60Hz IRQ generation, it would be possible to replace the
ROM on a Super Serial Card with one that would emulate a mouse card if a
standard PC serial mouse were attached. I was about half way through writing
that some years ago before I got a //gs (and a couple of real mouse cards
with Apple mice for my //e computers). I do not know of any easy way to tap
into 50/60Hz signal on a //e (][ and ][+ are simple).
