I can't remember which year the
FORTH issue was, but anyone with easy access might look it up.
August 1987, 145-196.
August 1980: http://www.vintage-computer.com/byte.shtml
That's it. They even issued a book about making a FORTH interpreter at the time.
You can find a PDF of that issue, and others, here.
I have the issue, I just don't have the Bytes organized in order to find
something specific without effort.
Then I remembered I actually have that issue close at hand, precisely
because it was the FORTH issue.
I glanced over it last night, and I only see two references to FORTH for
the Apple II (though I may have missed something).
On page 98, there is "Selected FORTH Vendors" and the only entry that
mentions the Apple II is the "Cap'n Software line. The line for FIG
does mention the 6502 among others.
Then on page 254, there is "What's New, Software" which happens to list
some FORTH related items, so I suspect they were solicite for the issue.
There is an entry for "Apple FORTH 1.7", from "Cap'n Software", I'm
assuming that's Captain Crunch. They say it's FIG compatible.
I don't see a FIG ad in the issue.
