You're making me think too much.  I'm starting to confuse myself and
my memory isn't cooperating.  :)

However, yes, I would say that assumption is correct but don't quote
me on it.  :)

Basically.  I won't presume to say that the neutral is always grounded
but that is basically how it works.  The neutral is just the way for
the power on the live wire to flow back to the power source.

I've been out of college too long to remember all this stuff.  I'm
going to have to start rereading my college texts again.  :)
