The most efficient way is to use ShrinkIt! to "Volume Compress"
all of your files into the so called SDK images (.shk files of
entire disk volumes rather than files).  This will in and of itself
cut your transfer time.  Next, use ProTERM 3.1 to transfer your
converted shrunk disk archives in bulk using ProTERM 3.1 and
Zmodem to your PC using HyperTerminal and Zmodem.  On
the PC side, you need a program called Nulib.

Nulib does a magical thing.  It extracts your Shrunk disks
into ProDOS order (.po) disk images (.dsk files).  These run
directly on emulators!

If you had a hard drive, a 3.5" drive, or a large RAM disk on
the IIe, I'd Shrink a bunch of disks, use ProTERM via
Zmodem to batch transfer them to the PC, and then Nulib
extract them to DSK files later.

P.S. For the IIe, the solution is simple.  Keep the original
.shk files you put on your PC with the transfer and send
them back when you want to use them on the IIe!
