rom card, super serial card..

hi, i just picked up some apple stuff from the local thrift store...  i
got a super serial card, and i know what it does, but does it matter
which slot i put it in?  also, i got a card that says "apple computer
inc. ROM CARD".  obviously, it's a rom card.  but what does it do? what
slot does  it go in?  it has 6 sockets for IC's, 5 of which are filled.
under those, there are 3 smaller IC's, and there are 2 smaller IC's to
the right of the 6 bigger ones, and on the end of the card there is a
switch.  any help?

oh, and while i'm at it, can anyone suggest any methods for cleaning the
floppy drive on a mac plus?
