     On a PC WinZIP uncompresses .zip and .gz and some other kinds of
compressed files. For WinZip check ...

     On an Apple II, there are utilities for uncompressing ShrinkIt (.shk and
.sdk) and Zip (.zip) and GZipped (.gz) files. For more info about this and
