Re GS 65816
Hello everyone:
I have received about 12 requests for these cpu's. As others have mentioned
on this group and from my research, these cpu's replace those on the Zip GS
and TranswarpGS which both ran traditionally around 7-8Mhz. These only
double the speed to about 16-18Mhz. With new style ram chips on the
piggyback cards, it is possible to max out to 20Mhz. I don't have a source
for those, nor do I know how to do the hacking. But this is still a
significant speed increase for this machine. Helps with web surfing and
running GNO very smoothly!
Western Design will only accept a bulk discount over 100 chips. I am
currently a student and am attempting to get the student discount. If I
can't they will be $20.00 a piece. So if any one else is interested, please
contact me in the next week. I take my Network+ exam the end of next week,
then I'm free to play on the IIgs awhile. That's when I'll go down and get
the chips--they are only about 15 minutes from my house. So, just remove
the NOSPAM and I'll contact you to let you. Thanks:)
