Apple IIc+ Monitor

I have an Apple IIc+ w/ a AppleColor Composite Monitor and it works fine.  I
have them connected with a RGB cable.  However, I noticed that next to the
RGB connection on the Apple IIc+, there's a 15-pin monitor port.  I also
have an Apple Multiple Scan 1705 Display monitor (works with Macs and PC's)
and tried connecting it to the Apple IIc+.  It wouldn't work.  Does anybody
know what type of monitor can be connected to the 15pin port on the Apple
IIc+?
