Apple ][ prototype boards???

Now that I understand *some* digial electronics, I want to start
building hardware for the Apple ][ series of computers.  Why not??

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has a source for prototype
boards that will plug into the expansion slot of an Apple ][??
Preferably inexpensive prototype cards :-)

A few weeks ago, I saw a post from someone who build a ROM drive...
I've forgotten his http address and e-mail, but if you read this,
what are you using??

I case you are wondering, I am going to attempt (amoung other projects)
to put two 6581 SID sound chips (from *ick* Commodore 64s) into my
Apple //e to create a stereo sound card...
