Applied Engineering's one says "RamFactor" on it in big letters.
Apple's one is a bit more anonymous, but the distinguish characteristics
include:

- Standard slot card (50 pins), not IIe auxiliary slot (or IIgs RAM
slot).
- It has a large socketed PLCC chip.
- 32 RAM chips (or positions for them).

It sits under a ROM (usually one of the firmware ROMs on the
motherboard).  The driver accesses the clock by doing a specific pattern
of reads to the memory area of the ROM, which is recognised by the no
slot clock.  The clock then takes over for accessing the time registers
(another 64 read operations, with different addresses being used to
"write" data using read instructions).

Yes.  I have one.  (It is an official Apple drive, labelled "Apple
SuperDrive".)
