I don't have any personal experience with the early ImageWriter II, but the
question of the two different versions of the IW2 printer did come up during
the development of AppleWorks 4 and 5. Apparently the earlier (white?)
ImageWriter II uses the AppleWorks ImageWriter I (one) driver, while the
regular ImageWriter II uses theAppleWorks  ImageWriter II driver. I never did
figure out what the whole story was, and could not test it myself. Apparently
the early IW2's are quite rare, and the question came up only because a Quality
Computers employee had one, and it didn't work the way it was supposed to.
